Redwood City native Chris Sakelarios, an athlete, certified personal trainer dreams big. For thirteen years she roved the Peninsula in her Fitness2U Mobile Gym and worked with individuals and groups of all ages and fitness levels, from compromised mobility to Olympic hopefuls. Often she had a waiting list.

Her dream was to create a venue where she could provide more training, fitness, and rehab services to more people. Oh, and offer them a really good cup of specialty coffee… organic and Fair Trade, of course. She got the idea after witnessing all her athletes either coming with a cup of coffee to their workout or saying that is were they were heading after. After two years of planning and construction, Caffé Sportivo and Sportivo Training Center opened on July 12, 2008 at 965 Brewster Avenue in Redwood City, CA (corner of Perry , a short distance from the Caltrain station, open 7 days a week.)
